I revel in the brisk beauty of a rainfall, and I revel in the soothing light of an overcast sky. When the rain stills and crisp ozone fills the air, I step outside and I drink the clean cool sky with every breath. My eyes unsquint, my skin untightens, I can breathe, I can think, I don’t have to think, I can relax.

When the air after the rain fills the world, I open the curtains.

When the sky after the rain is also a southern view at sunset, I reach for the camera, and I stay on, enraptured, long after I’ve taken the picture.

It may well be that this southern view at sunset after the rain will forever evoke in me the ultimate memory of atmospheric bliss. One glimpse, and I am jolted into remembering. One glimpse and I, too, am after the rain.
